Inspired by giants - The origin of Canopy East
The inception of Canopy East was fueled by a profound commitment to assist families in addressing all aspects of their wealth management precisely when they need it most. By offering comprehensive oversight in areas such as investment, succession, taxation, and philanthropy, and integrating a robust governance framework around the family's wealth management, Canopy East strives to provide families with the confidence that their future is well-protected.
But from where does the name "Canopy East" draw its meaning? Check out our origin story here.
Can family wealth discussions survive without complete transparency?
While transparency is generally viewed as a virtue, it can sometimes lead to complications. Differences of opinion among family members can result in secrets, back-door negotiations, and varying interpretations of outcomes. This complexity underscores the necessity for clearly defined decision-making processes.
'Looking East': Investment Opportunities
Not investment Advice
Many investment opportunities cross my desk during the course of a month. Not all pass my radar, but they tell an interesting story.
Here are some of those that I have had the opportunity to discuss with the managers of late.
Talaria Capital - A differentiated value-based global equity strategy
Remara - Cash, Private Credit and Real Estate funds
Senjin Capital - Activist Japanese equities fund
Glenmore Equities Fund - Australian value-based small/mid cap fund
Arbor Permanent Owners- Australian long-term industrial private equity fund
BNP Paribas - Global green bonds
Tidal Ventures - Australian tech Venture Fund
Solar Serve Group - Middle-East based Solar Panel recycling business
Interestingly, the number of private debt funds approaching to raise capital seems to be slowing a touch. Whether this be that they have more capital than they can use, or that the real estate development investment opportunities are thinning out, the paring back of the private debt industry from the worrying heights of extreme capital raising during a time when the economy is slowing can only be a good thing.
Please contact me should you wish to be introduced to any of the opportunities above.
Spread the Word
Canopy East is a unique offering for families - giving them an independent advocate to represent their financial interests.
